Mitchell and I decided to take a walk around our neighborhood after work to check out some of the cool restaurants. We decided to stop by Nopalito in the Sunset to celebrate my new role at work with an appropriate pitcher of margarita (my favorite). There were so many things I wanted to try on the menu but we opted for just three: Tacos Dorados de Papa (crispy rolled tortillas with veggies and cheese), Carne Asada con Choriza y Nopales (Grilled sirloin steak, housemade chorizo and seared cactus) and Quesadilla con Espárragos y Hongos (sauteed veggies and cheese).
All the dishes we ordered were very good and surprising filling, but if I had to choose one of the plates as my favorite, I would have to say the quesadilla! The jack cheese paired with mushrooms and asparagus is a match made in heaven, I could probably eat it for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I can’t wait to go back and check out some of their other plates and perhaps I’ll pick up a bag of the roasted chickpeas this time :)
