Bouldering at Bridges Rock Gym


The best type of exercise for me is the kind that disguises the fact that you’re actually getting a workout because the fun you’re having masks the pain. I started coming by the Bridges Rock Gym in El Cerrito, just north of Oakland, when I bought a Groupon deal so I could hang out with my friend Ana. We actually stopped by this gym after our dinner at Belly, to burn off all the goodness we consumed.

I felt a little weird taking photos at the gym, but I wanted to document some of the things I like to do and hopefully encourage you guys to go out there and try new things! I’m no where as skilled as Ana, she climbs like a squirrel, scaling around the wall, but it’s always a good stress-reliever for me when we head to Bridges Rock to go bouldering together. I also feel the repercussion of our climbing session now as I am typing this, my back and arms are pretty sore but I always felt like that was a good thing. The pain after a workout session tells me that my body is making small changes :)

    Well your calf looks awesome so those little changes are great! Definitely want to try this out when I’m back in the states!
