San Francisco’s Chinatown

San Francisco is not exactly a big city (in terms of physical size), but the city is so densely packed and rich with culture it’s easy to discover and rediscover interesting places. Each neighborhood has its own, unique characteristics and it makes exploring around town so exciting.

I recently visited Chinatown to look around the shop filled with little trinkets and possible chow down on some authentic Chinese cuisine. We were in a bit of a hurry so we decided to take a chance on luck and chose Z & Y Restaurant, a Schezuan joint, since I love spicy food! We ordered the Pancake Beef and Spicy Fish with Flaming Chili Oil after a quick research on Yelp and I must say, I’d definitely return to check out the other items on the menu!

Even on a foggy day, I loved that all the colors in the street were still so vibrant and inviting. The lanterns hanging from building to building made the street seem more exotic and definitely made a great spot for a photo-op.

The streets were also packed with countless souvenir shops and restaurants, I had a lot of fun checking out the random items and trying to decided which eatery to try next.
